Buford Georgia is located about 25 miles from downtown Atlanta and has come a long way since being known a just a train depot between Atlanta and Charlotte North Carolina. Buford is located on the southern shore of Lake Sidney Lanier. Buford Dam is a major source of hydroelectric power for the North Georgia Area.
